Touching ground again....

The past week 2 weeks have been a bit slow at the office since we have had computers bombing out, drawings gone missing, dentist appointments and all the public holidays but still a little productive. Noel has constant work coming in luckily, for example today sitting having coffee and an old client came up to us and asked for Noel to draw up plans which require turning a single story into a double story. We also have a new client that has come up to us, from Newlands, asking to turn plans, that a draftsman had sketched up, into realty, however the plans don’t really suit what the client needs for example a 5,2m long kitchen in a not so big house……

I have been given the plans of the existing house to draw up which are really blurred and hard to read and I’ve also been given the plans that the draftsman drew up showing alterations onto the house. Here’s what I got given:

The site is measured in cape feet with angles everywhere!
quite a complicated little site to draw up with all the different angles
What the draftsman drew up....

The not so usefull drawings we got from council.

A plan from council.

The original site was measured in cape feat so you have to multiply by 0.3148556 to get mm. The site plan is very complicated as there are different angles everywhere and they are all internal angle so they are hard to draw up.
The site drawn up on micro GDS

The existing plan that still needs to be taken to the house to get more accurate measurements.
This is the plan the draftsman drew up that I then put onto the program.

We have also been contacted by Berco to see whether the 17 staff members will be able to fit into a new office block in Montague gardens. We went on site to go and measure up; we also had to draw up the ceiling panels so that we know where dry walling will be able to be installed as it needs to attach to the battens.  I did the plans and the calculating of where the ceiling battens are, and Noel arranged the office furniture to see if it would possibly work which it does.
